CAMP BRACKENHURST |

“Where ADVENTURES Begin” Camp Brackenhurst is a Christian, adventure camp for boys and girls aged 7-18. This camp is designed for children seeking to add some excitement and adventure to their break from school. Spend one week of the holiday having fun, experiencing new opportunities, and building new relationships with other people your age in East Africa. |

ABOUT CAMP BRACKENHURST Camp Brackenhurst is designed to place children into groups based on their age at camp time. One staff member will be responsible for 5-7 children as their cabin group. The children will do a variety of activities with their cabin group as well as with the other children at camp depending on the activity. Camp Brackenhurst will offer a variety of “skills,” such as soccer, basketball, arts & crafts, bible study, outdoor living, tennis, pottery, etc. |

The children (7-14 yrs) can choose 3 of these skills to attend on a daily basis with a small group of other campers. Then the remainder of the day will be spent in larger group activities such as field olympics, sports extravaganza, capture the flag, sock war, ropes course (12-18 yrs) and indoor rock climbing, etc. The older children (15-18yrs) will have an opportunity to participate extensively in adventure activities such as ropes course, outdoor rock climbing, hiking, whitewater rafting, camping, indoor rock climbing, etc. The younger children will also have an opportunity to camp-out, but only on the grounds of Brackenhurst. Camp Brackenhurst is a Christian camp, so the children will be spending time having devotions and bible studies with their counselor and as a camp. Camp Brackenhurst will take place twice during the month of June 2008,
and THREE times during July 2008.
Session one runs from 1 June - 7 June, session two from 8 June - 14 June, session three from 6 July - 12 July, session four from 20 July - 26 July, and session five from 27 July – 2 August. |

Camp Brackenhurst is staffed by qualified, Christian people from the U.S. Kim Pace, the director, has worked at camps for a number of years, including directing Camp Brackenhurst for the past 6 years. Stu and Lauren Minshew joined Camp in 2005 to serve as the Program Directors. A staff of 20 volunteers is coming from the states to take on the role of counselors for the camp. These people have all worked at Christian camps in the past, and are all extremely qualified to take on the role of counselor and mentor for the campers.
